Valentina Grizales is a criminal defense attorney whose practice is built on trial advocacy, courtroom experience, and a genuine commitment to the people she represents.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law. During law school, Valentina competed on the St. Thomas Trial Team at both the state and national levels, earning back-to-back championships at the Chester Bedell Mock Trial Competition in 2023 and 2024, along with the Best Advocate Award in 2024. She also interned with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, where she gained early experience representing clients in domestic violence court.
Valentina began her legal career at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office, where she managed a high-volume caseload handling more than a thousand criminal cases — from misdemeanors to serious felonies. That experience gave her deep courtroom fluency across jury trials, evidentiary hearings, and motion practice, including motions to suppress and motions to dismiss.
She currently serves as a coach for the St. Thomas University Trial Team, which holds a top-five national ranking in the 2025–2026 Gavel Rankings.
Valentina’s approach to defense is straightforward: prepare thoroughly, fight hard in the courtroom, and make sure every client understands exactly where they stand at every stage of their case.
